Mohini Ekadashi is celebrated on the 11 day (ekadashi) during Shukla Paksha in Vaishaka Month. There are 24 ekadashi in a year. Its an auspicious day.

As per the Greogian calender, Mohini Ekadashi falls around May month.  Devotee should workship Lord Vishnu like they do in every Ekadashi. Since there are 24 Ekadashis, every Ekadashi got a different name and have their own significance.

As per our holy book/scripture – keep fast during Ekadashi as it is considered very fruitful.

There is tithi khashya of dwadashi also. It is also Trishprasha  (त्रिस्पृशा)  Ekadashi.(On single day – when Ekadashi, Dwadashi and during night when Troyadashi rises).

Story of Mohini Ekadashi

I am sharing here story and significance of Mohini Ekadashi.

• During time of “Samudra Manthan”, Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of beautiful lady Mohini on the Ekadashi tithi.  It was disguise opted by him to help the Devtas when they were engaged in tug of war with Demons. Lord Vishnu took did this to make sure that Divine Immortal Nectar(amrit) would go to only Devta. Mohini appeared to divert the attention of demons and played game with them to give benefit to Devtas for Immortal Nectar.
• When Lord Shree Ram was searching for Goddess Sita & during Mahabharat Yudhishtir kept fast on Mohini Ekadashi – they got rid of all their issues.

What to do on Mohini Ekadashi 2021

I am sharing what all you can do on this Mohini Ekadashi to get maximum benefits.

• Chant this mantra “OM NAMO BHAGWATE VAASUDEVAY” as much as you can.
• Offer Tulsi to Lord Vishnu on this day.
• Don’t consume rice, alcohol etc on auspicious day of Mohini Ekadashi. Try to avoid physical relationship during above time period.
• Always do some donation on this auspicious Mohini Ekadashi day. It brings prosperity in life.
• Devotees should workship Lord Vishnu with fruits, incense sticks, flowers, dhoop etc to evoke the deity.
• You can also donate good, clothes etc on this auspicious day.
• Chant Vishnu Shahastranaam today.
• If possible read Bhagwat Geeta also.
• To get blessing of Lord Vishnu, please do prayer of Lord Vishnu with full faith and dedication. Lord Vishnu always protects his devotees, specially one who keeps fast on this day. In case your health doesn’t allow to keep fast or you can’t for some reasons, then try to chant Lord Vishnu name as much as you can through out this Mohini Ekadashi.

मोहिनी एकादशी 

वैशाख मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी को मोहिनी एकादशी मनाया जाता हैं। इस दिन भक्त प्रभु विष्णु जी की उपासना करना चाहिए। एक साल में 24 एकादशी आती हैं । हर एकादशी का अपना महत्व होता है। व्रत रखना एकादशी में बहुत शुभ माना गया हैं।

 मोहिनी एकादशी : 2021

 22 मई 2021 शनिवार को सुबह एकादशी 09:16 से 23 मई, रविवार को सुबह 06:42 तक एकादशी है ।

 व्रत एकादशा का 23 मई 2021 को रखे।

 मोहिनी एकादशी – कथा 

 समुन्द्र मंथन के समय भगवान विष्णु ने सुन्दर स्त्री मोहिनी के रूप में एकादशी को अवतरित हुए थे। भगवान विष्णु ने मोहिनी रूप इसलिए धारण करा ताकि देवता अमृत को ग्रहण कर

सके और असुर नहीं। राक्षशो का ध्यान भटकाने के लिए किया था।

 देवी माता सीता की खोज के समय प्रभु श्री राम तथा महाभारत में धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर ने मोहिनी एकादशी का व्रत रखा था जिससे उन्होंने सभी परेशानियों से मुक्ति पाई थी।  

 त्रिस्पृशा’ का महायोग – मोहिनी एकादशी के दिन क्या करे

विशेष – 23 मई, रविवार को त्रिस्पृशा – मोहिनी एकादशी का व्रत (उपवास) रखें ।

• हजार एकादशियों का फल देनेवाला व्रत
• एक ‘त्रिस्पृशा एकादशी के उपवास से एक हजार एकादशी व्रतों का फल प्राप्त होता है । इस एकादशी को रात में जागरण करनेवाला भगवान विष्णु के स्वरूप में लीन हो जाता है ।
• इस दिन व्रत रखने से समस्त पापो का और मुसीबतो/परेशानिया से मुक्ति मिल जाता हैं। ।
• इस त्रिस्पृशा के उपवास से ब्रह्महत्या जैसे महापाप भी नष्ट हो जाते हैं ।
• हजार अश्वमेध और सौ वाजपेय यज्ञों का फल मिलता है ।
• इस दिन भगवान विष्णु जी को तुलसी अर्पण करे ।
• ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय मंत्र का जाप करे।
• यह व्रत करनेवाला पुरुष पितृ कुल, मातृ कुल तथा पत्नी कुल के सहित विष्णुलोक में प्रतिष्ठित होता है ।
• विष्णु सहस्रनामम भी पढ़े।
• इस दिन चावल नहीं खाये।
• इस दिन दान जरूर करे।

देवर्षि नारदजी ने भगवान शिवजी से कहा : ‘‘सर्वेश्वर ! आप त्रिस्पृशा नामक व्रत का वर्णन कीजिये, जिसे सुनकर लोग कर्मबंधन से मुक्त हो जाते हैं ।”

महादेवजी शिव जी : ‘‘विद्वन् ! देवाधिदेव भगवान ने मोक्षप्राप्ति के लिए इस व्रत की सृष्टि की है, इसीलिए इसे ‘वैष्णवी तिथि भी कहा जाता हैं। । भगवान माधव ने गंगाजी के पापमुक्ति के बारे में पूछने पर बताया था : ‘‘जब एक ही दिन में  एकादशी, द्वादशी तथा रात्रि के अंतिम प्रहर में त्रयोदशी भी हो तो उसे ‘त्रिस्पृशा’ समझना चाहिए । यह तिथि धर्म, अर्थ, काम और मोक्ष देनेवाली तथा सौ करोड़ो तीर्थों से भी अधिक महत्त्वपूर्ण है । इस दिन भगवान के साथ सद्गुरु की पूजा करनी चाहिए ।”
